I have no idea who would ever use an electric weed eater.

Electric devices aren't as heavy and don't make as much noise but they also don't work well at all.

Gas is the cream of the crop.

I was raised with gas equipment and would not have it any other way.

My grandma use to have an electric weedeater but no self respecting grass slinger would be caught dead with one. One interesting thing i have heard though is something about a propane conversion. Anybody heard anything about this setup?

I haven't heard about a propane conversion but that could make some sense. They operate fork-lifts and such with propane so that sure could work.

As a person who has tried using both I have to say I couldn't stop using gas now, in my opinion it's much better.

For now gas has the upper advantage but the electric ones are catching up in power. I would imagine in a few years electric will take over in lawn movers as well as power washers. Until then gas is the way to go.
