Lawn mower problem
The other day I was mowing my lawn like usual, and all of a sudden, the engine caught on fire! I put it out and was wondering, can I replace the engine or will I have to buy a completely new mower?

where did the fire start? What part of the engine? Is the wiring all fried?

It all depends on where the fire was. There is a chance you can just replace the engine but to be safe you can always just buy a new mower.

My neighbor did the same thing because he didnt remove grass buildup. I had to rewire the whole system all the way down to the electric deck clutch safety switches etc. It burnt so bad it melted the gas tank but after a new tank and 9 hours of wiring it runs like before. Fire really cant damage the engine itself if it was exstguished fairly quick.
