Lightbulb Types of Advertising

This is a list I have made listing the types of advertising available to lawn service business owners. I have tried to break these up into categories for the size of the business. The larger businesses can also use the smaller business ideas. Feel free to add to this list because this is not everything.

Small - City/Township
  • Door hangers
  • Postcards mailed to households
  • Refrigerator magnets
  • Middle/High school sports team sponsorship
  • Newspaper advertisement
  • Yard signs

Medium - County to Statewide
  • Radio spot
  • TV spot
  • Newspaper insert
  • Corporate sponsorship of large events
  • Car leaflets
  • Billboard advertising

For a larger business:
  • Banner behind airplane
  • Ads on side of a bus

For a really large business (like nation-wide) you could do Internet advertising. I suppose if you were a smaller business you could advertise on local web sites, such as the web site for a local newspaper.

This is a good list but people need to remember that no matter what types of advertising and no matter how much advertising you do it simply won't beat word of mouth from satisfied customers.
