My partner is used to working in the construction field and has the idea that if we split up we can get more done we have 30 lawns at this time five on monday fourteen on thursday and eleven on friday I am not in aggreement I Think that by working a lawn together we are saving time Our tuesdays and wednesday are open at this time for potential suggestive sales to customers decks edging new customers ect., who is right
Hard transition to come from constrution to lawncare two different way of doing the job. One works alone most of the time. The other requires team work.
I guess that explains it. I would suggest sitting down to air your differences the pros and cons. Then come to a solution. It will be important to understand where the both of you are coming from if this business you both are in, in order for it to survive.
IMO there should always be two to a team. One does the mowing while the other does the trim work and blowing. It has worked real well for me for the past six years. It seems we both finish about the same time. To keep it interesting try running the mower during the morning and trim in the afternoon. That way you both get to have a time to do both mowing and trimming.
I think that you should always have at least two people on a job at all times. It saves time if you and the other person in your crew are in a good rhythm of each other. Also for safety reason's if there is a accident one can always call for help. (or help get your mower out of that darn ditch)
You always save time when there are more than one person on a job. As long as you can get the jobs done faster and both are busy the majority of the time, keep it a team effort.
I run solo but if you have enough equipment to split up then you should be able to work faster as a team or hire some help and split into 2 crews. I don't understand why someone would want to shoot alone if they don't have 2. Maybe he doesn't like you?
i have been in the commecial construction (family owned) since i was about 10 years old now im 37 and a superintendent and mowing for 4 years .i will tell you do your yards with you and him dont split up because you both will feed off each others speed and drive. if you are competitive like me it becomes a game who can do what faster and better
