What I like to do is when I believe my thatch is getting too thick I take a stiff rake and rake the lawn. I collect the large amounts of thatch and throw them in the compost pile. Later on I can take that compost that I made with the thatch and I have a safe fertilizer which makes the yard look even better! It's a win-win situation, really. |
